2021 Goal Setting

Updated: Jan 20, 2021

So 2020 was a pretty rubbish year, I think we can all agree on that. And there's no telling yet what 2021 will be like, but one thing we can control is our approach - keep a positive mind and plan for greatness. To help you along the way, I've created a couple of resources that are available to download for free.

2021 Goal Planner

This 31 page workbook is pretty comprehensive, looking closely at various different areas. Check out the contents below.

It begins with a review of 2020 which can serve as a good exercise in reflecting on where you are now, what you're proud of having achieved, and what else you wish you had achieved by now. This is an important first step as it helps you become clear on your present position, clarity which is essential prior to planning the path ahead.

The next few pages are very self-exploratory. They ask you to look inside yourself and think really hard about what you truly want. Who is the ideal you? What does your ideal life look like? How will you know when you are "successful"? And what are your most effective motivations?

The next four pages introduce some excellent strategies for goal setting. SWOT analysis is a great tool for identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and can be applied to each one of your goals. Affirmations are powerful tools for overcoming negative thoughts and working towards positive change. SMART goal setting is a fantastic framework for setting effective goals as it increases the chances of success. Journey mapping is a great process for breaking down each goal into a series of manageable actions. Apply these four tools to your goal setting practice and you'll be well away!

Now it's time to do some actual goal setting. The next few pages explore key categories such as career, finance, and health to encourage you to think about the different goals you might like to set. Time is also important however, so each page afterwards is dedicated to a particular month to help you think about what you would like to achieve in each month and what actions you could be taking each month to work towards future goals.

The final page is your "2021 Objective". Where do you want to be by the end of the year? How are you going to get there? This page helps you bring everything together so you are ready to embark on an exciting 2021.
